Key Management
Charles H. Havens – Chief Executive Officer
Charley spent 40+ years as an innovator in the Data and Communications business, starting and running his own companies after a few years of ‘cutting his teeth’ with the old Bell Phone Companies.
During his tenure in this business he supplied services to many of the petroleum and utility companies from office to field communications. This is where his desire for the oil and gas industries was realized. He partnered with several prominent and successful oil tycoons and became an avid investor in projects ranging from $5,000,000 to $10,000,000.
Because of this experience, he realized that there were a lot of improvements that could be made by the seller of hydrocarbons that would equate to a risk reduction for the investor.
After retirement from the data-com business, he entered into the oil and gas business searching for unique business opportunities by defining existing oil and gas production that could be re-entered or re-completed.
In 2006 he purchased Domestic Development Company, an oil and gas production company, and pursued his philosophy of buying quality oil and gas properties that are barely producing and can be economically reworked to full production by applying his modern day, cutting edge philosophies.
Charlie Johnson – Vice President of Field Operations
Charlie Johnson has been an oil and gas investor since 1989, when he began acquiring royalty interests at auction, eventually buying and selling over 100 interests. A 1973 graduate of the University of Texas, he began his career as a computer programmer for a wildcat driller in Houston. There he learned the basics of drilling operations and accounting. He spent a decade as a programmer/analyst for a natural gas company in Amarillo. In the 1990s, he worked for Texas Instruments and Hewlett-Packard as a Technical Writer specializing in software.
In 1999, he began purchasing mature oil fields in NE Oklahoma and partnering with operators to fix them up and resell them. The basic idea was to re-pressurize Bartlesville oil with the water from coal bed methane gas wells. He has also operated Gunsight Sand production near Wichita Falls. He understands the mechanics required to re-develop mature fields. Charlie enjoys the feeling of accomplishment that comes from returning a shut-in field to profitable production.
Charlie, as Manager of Field Operations, ensures that our investors interest is protected. He spends about half of his time in the field reviewing projects and monitoring ongoing operations and the other half analyzing future projects.
